I’ve redesigned Mirror Mirror, a biannual beauty magazine in the Netherlands. Since the redesign, the magazine has started calling itself “The most beautiful magazine about beauty and fashion.” Not my words, but I think so too! ;-).

The refreshed look of Mirror Mirror is intelligently inspiring and feminine, with a playful edge, a touch of glamour, and a hint of surrealism. It has been a wonderful opportunity to showcase my editorial design skills and breathe new life into this stunning publication. Working at …,staat, I was responsible for the design from MM #06 to MM #13.

When I started Office Youri Koers, editor-in-chief Georgette Koning asked me to continue our working relationship. As of MM #21 I am back as art director and designer of the magazine.

In Mirror Mirror, I explore a variety of type experiments, ranging from very analog styles to 3D digital designs. The publication consistently uses two typefaces: Genath, a classic serif, and Quarion, a modern sans-serif. Additionally, each edition showcases a special guest typeface for added flair.
